Is that true that the New Testament Era is the Era of Grace, whereas there is no Grace in Old Testament?

Is that true that the New Testament Era is the Era of Grace, whereas there is no Grace in Old Testament?

How often are we stuffed by a theology that actually is not biblical that today, the New Testament era, is the era of Grace, whereas the Old Testament, is not the era of Grace?

Almost all Christians believed about this kind of theology so that as if it is implied that Old Testament is a gloomy era, no Grace, the only things that existed in Old Testament were only judgments and the Law. There is no Grace in Old Testament, and suddenly after that, God changed Himself in the New Testament and metamorphed Himself as a kind God, full of Grace and there is no judgment anymore.

Is this notion true? How often are we stuffed by this thing?

I always ask the people who adhere the concept that the New Testament is the era of Grace. I always ask them, where does the verse in the Bible which says that now is the "Age of Grace"? Please try to find it if you have found it and show it to me. I'll tell you that you won't find the verse because it does not exist. There is absolutely no verse in the Bible that says that now is the Age of Grace / Grace era. If you find it, you can show it to me.

In fact, there is nothing at all in the Bible, the verse that says that now is the Age of Grace.

Sometimes the Myths or heritage interpretations or heritage theology that circulating among Christians, need to be checked and be proved and if it is proven that there is no such thing, it'd be better for us not to adhere such theology just like the theology that says that Now is the age of Grace.

I always ask to those who embrace this kind of theology, do you think in the days of Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, etc, there is no Grace in their era?

Is there no Grace in the days of Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, etc? It's totally wrong, instead the bible said clearly that at that time, God also showed His grace. Most of them who still believe that the Grace is only existent in the New Testament, definitely never read the Old Testament completely. Therefore, no wonder that they do not know that in the Old Testament, there is also Grace.

The word "Grace" in Hebrew is "Khein חן" or "Khesed חסד" which is rendered as "Grace" or "Kindness".

The word "Khein חן" or "Khesed חסד" was rendered as "Kharis χάρις" in Greek or in Septuagint version of Old Testament. It is evident that in the Greek Old Testament (the Septuagint), the word "Khein חן" or "Khesed חסד" is translated "Kharis χάρις".

Look clearly for the example

(Exodus 33:16 [Literal Translation from Hebrew] And how it will be known that i have found the "Grace (Khein חן)" in Your Eyes, i and your people? Isn't it from Your walking with us and we have been differentiated, i and your people from the other nations which are upon the earth?

(Exodus 33:16 [Septuagint] And how it will be known clearly that i have found "the Grace (χάριν)" before You, both i and your people? Isn't it from Your walking with us and both i and your people are glorified before all nations which are upon the earth?

Therefore, based on the two of Hebrew and Greek texts above, it appears clearly that we can see an undeniable face that in the days of the Old Testament, even after the Law of Moses was given, there is still "Grace". So, it's totally a wrong theology that developed in the Christianity that now is the Age of Grace, because in the Old Testament, we can see clearly that truthfully, there is also Grace in the Old Testament.

What i wanna say is, there is a wrong thing that needs to be clarified in the Christianity regarding a view that the Law is a burden for Israel or a disaster for Israel which is full of judgment. This is Mind Set of so many Christians that they thought that the age of the Law in Old Testament was the the era full of gloom and punishment, and there is no Grace at all in Old Testament.

In fact, this theology is absolutely wrong. The Law is not a burden for Israel or a disaster for Israel. Instead, the Law is the evidence of "Khesed חסד (Kindness / Grace)" itself that God showed to Israel so that Israel became a distinct nation from the other nations and they are honored because they received the Law directly from God.

They are proud because God Himself who gave to them His Law. It's not like what we thought about them that they were so desperately suffering due to the Law. It's totally wrong.

Instead, This is exactly the "Khesed חסד (Kindness / Grace)" that God gave to the nation of Israel. So it is truly a fatal theological blunder if we teach that in the days of the Old Testament there is no grace. Where did this foolish idea come from?

So we have to understand clearly that God didn't change at all. There is Grace in the New Testament, there is also Grace in Old Testament. God didn't change. There is punishment in Old Testament, also there is punishment in New Testament (remember the case of Ananias and Shapira).

So, we have to understand bible correctly and properly.

Shalom.
